About

What?

Plastic Albatross is community-based campaign to educate the public about toxins in PLASTICS and other household products, and how these substances affect the health and fertility of humans. We encourage local families, businesses, and organizations to limit their exposure and consumption to work toward a toxin-free future!

Why?

Plastics and human-made chemicals are ubiquitous, toxic, and non-biodegradable. They are an albatross on our bodies and our environment and will be for generations to come.

Toxic chemicals are used in the production of everyday plastic products and other household items. Eventually these ingredients leach into our food and are absorbed by our bodies. Recent research links these chemicals to a dramatic increase in long-term health and environmental problems, yet little is being done to regulate the thousands of chemicals pouring into in food chain.

How?

The Plastic Albatross website presents educational materials based on documentation from researchers and advocacy groups at the forefront of the fields of bioethics, ecological health, and toxicology. It offers suggestions for change in your household, community, and government and provides ideas for grassroots communication, allowing individuals to help spread the word.

When?

NOW is a good time to learn about the household products you purchase and the practices your local businesses follow. Get started by reading the GET INFORMED section of this site and then take a look at the suggestions in the TAKE ACTION section.
